Summary

John L. Renne is the Henry Shane Professor of Real Estate and Urban Planning and Director of the Real Estate Development Program at Tulane University in the School of Architecture and Built Environment. He has published four books on sustainable urban planning and resilience. Since 2013, he has been affiliated with the Transport Studies Unit at the University of Oxford. He is currently working on two books on the topic of Transit Oriented Development.

Billy Fields is is a Professor of Political Science at Texas State University. His research focuses on understanding the implementation and political challenges of resilient community transitions. He is the co-author of Adaptation Urbanism and Resilient Communities (2021) and co-editor of Transport Beyond Oil (2013). He co-directs the International Sustainable Transportation Engagement Program, an annual study abroad programme to the UK and the Netherlands exploring best practices in sustainable transportation.

Nacima Baron is Professor in Transport Planning at Gustave Eiffel University and belongs to the multidisciplinary research department Ville Mobilité Transport in Paris. Her expertise covers railway infrastructure and especially European stations and terminals (urban, intercity and high-speed lines). She adopts a sociotechnical perspective to question the articulations between sustainable innovations and territorial policies. She is co-editor of The New Nature of Stations (2024).
