Meet the Editors
Stephan Pauleit is Chair of Strategic Landscape Planning and Management and head of the Centre for Urban Ecology and Climate Adaptation at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on urban resilience, green infrastructure, and the integration of nature-based solutions into planning systems.
Martina van Lierop is a Research Assistant at the Chair of Strategy and Management of Landscape Development, Technical University of Munich. She focuses on knowledge transfer and local implementation of planning and the development of nature-based solutions in cooperative and participatory governance.
Emanuel Giannotti is Assistant Professor in Urban Planning in the Department of Design Cultures, Università Iuav di Venezia. His research focuses on the relationship between urban and housing policies and grassroots practices that have shaped urban space.
Rieke Hansen is Professor for Open Space Planning at University of Kassel. Prior to her appointment in October 2025, she led the Institute for Open Space Development at Hochschule Geisenheim University.
